At McKesson, we care about our people—when you’re at work, at home or anywhere in between. And we know that life can sometimes take you by surprise, whether it’s a natural disaster or a family emergency.
That’s why we sponsor the employee relief fund. It’s a way for our people to get (and give) help during difficult times. It’s how we take care of our own.
How and when to apply for a grant
If you find yourself dealing with an unexpected emergency, you can apply for a grant from the McKesson Taking Care of Our Own Fund. The fund offers two types of grants: the Get You to Safety Grant and the We Care Grant. Both are administered by the Emergency Assistance Foundation. If you apply for a grant through the Taking Care of Our Own Fund site, EAF's privacy policy applies.
We Care Grant
Depending on your situation, the fund provides grants up to $5,000 to cover basic costs after a personal hardship or government-declared disaster. Knowing these situations are time-sensitive, EAF will process your application as quickly as possible - typically in 3-5 business days if all required documentation is provided. If approved, you should receive payment within 2 weeks.
Because it’s a grant – not a loan – you never have to pay the grant back. But to make sure the fund can help those who need it most, income guidelines apply. If this grant feels like what you need, apply here:
Get You to Safety Grant
Are you under a mandatory evacuation order due to a FEMA or government declared disaster? The Fund provides up to $1,000 evacuation assistance grants for eligible McKesson employees who are under a mandatory evacuation order and have left their home.
To be eligible, you must be a permanent full- or part-time McKesson employee who works 20 or more hours a week and has left their home due to a mandatory evacuation order.
