
Dr. Gerberding is the chief executive officer of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. Previously, she served as the executive vice president and chief patient officer at Merck & Co., and she also served as the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Gerberding currently serves on the board of directors of Hillevax, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel vaccines. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley.
