For close to 40 years, Americans have spent the month of October raising awareness about the impact of breast cancer and championing women – our mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, grandmothers – in their fight against the disease. October also happens to be American Pharmacists Month, with October 12th being dedicated specifically to honoring women pharmacists and their contributions to the profession and to health care as a whole.
For Women Pharmacist Day this year, our own Lindsey DeMarrais, PharmD, MS, shares her thoughts and experiences from her perspective as both a woman and a pharmacist on how the pharmacist’s role in the care and treatment of breast cancer patients has changed over time, how women pharmacists are uniquely positioned to make a difference, and what she hopes to see going forward. Watch the video below.
We hope you’ll join us in recognizing women in pharmacy, breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families, and all women this month.
