With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Giacomelli has held various pharmacy management and leadership positions in community pharmacy, academic medical centers, and health systems. Throughout her career, she has facilitated and led numerous projects related to automation, technology, workflow optimization, centralization of medication distribution, supply chain management, ambulatory pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, and advancing pharmacy technician services.
Dr. Giacomelli is a fellow of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Past Chair of the ASHP Section of Informatics and Technology. She received her BS in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut, where she was selected as 2014 Alumni of the Year, Pharm.D. from the University of Colorado, and MBA in Healthcare Administration from Widener University. Dr. Giacomelli also completed an ASHP PGY1 Residency at Inspira Healthcare in Vineland, NJ. She is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and trained in Agile. Currently, Dr. Giacomelli sits on the ASHP/ACPE Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission, the NJSHP Public Policy Council and the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy Advisory Board. She received an ASHP Distinguished Service Award 2019 and is currently sitting on the McKesson Critical Care Drug Task Force as a liaison between McKesson and health systems.
